Beautiful “Sundar Storm” Levels the Series for India

The first match of the five-match T20I series was washed out by rain. Australia took the lead by winning the second match. However, on Sunday (November 2) in Hobart, India made a strong comeback with a dominant victory in the third match to level the series.

Batting first, Australia posted 186 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, powered by a whirlwind innings from Washington Sundar, India chased down the target with 5 wickets in hand and 9 balls to spare.

For Australia, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis wreaked havoc with the bat. Thanks to their explosive innings, Australia reached 186 in 120 balls for the loss of 6 wickets.

Tim David top-scored with 74 runs off 38 balls, hitting 8 fours and 5 sixes. Marcus Stoinis added 64 runs off 39 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.

For India, Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets for 35 runs in 4 overs, while Varun Chakravarthy claimed 2 wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs.

In India’s chase, Washington Sundar played a blazing knock of 49 runs off 23 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes to seal the win with 9 balls remaining. Jiten Sharma remained unbeaten on 23 runs off 13 balls with three boundaries.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav smashed 24 runs off 11 balls with one four and two sixes, while Tilak Varma scored 29 runs off 26 balls with one four and one six.

The first T20I of the series was abandoned due to rain. In the second match, Australia bowled out India for just 125 runs and cruised to victory by 6 wickets with 40 balls to spare.
