“I’m trying to work on my batting -Said Liton.

Litton Das’s bat hasn’t been smiling much throughout the year. Aside from a century against Pakistan in a Test match, he has struggled to find consistency with the bat. Even during the recent West Indies tour, the batter failed to make an impact. Despite his struggles in both ODIs and T20Is, there’s a silver lining: under his leadership, Bangladesh managed to whitewash the West Indies in the T20 series, which has somewhat shielded him from criticism.

In the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, Litton scored a total of just 14 runs. His performance in the ODI series prior was even worse. This has raised questions about when Litton’s bat will start producing runs again. Following the match against the West Indies, Litton faced these questions and expressed his confidence in bouncing back soon.

Litton said, “I’m trying to work on my batting. Playing in three formats continuously hasn’t gone well for me recently. But I’m working on it with Salahuddin Sir. He’s very helpful and supportive. All of us feel comfortable around him. He has known most of us since our early days, which helps us a lot mentally. I’ve been discussing things with him, and I believe I can come out of this phase soon.”

Litton further praised coach Salahuddin, saying, “All the coaching staff are very friendly, including the new coach. He never imposes things on players. Since we’ve been playing for a long time, he values our opinions too. That’s something he acknowledges. Most of us have played under Salahuddin Sir at some stage in our careers, so he knows us well. The discussions in the dressing room are very constructive. Sir is an incredibly friendly person, and you can talk to him about anything, even if you’re under pressure.”

Litton emphasized the positive environment Salahuddin has created. “Some things are changing under him. His message is clear, and we feel free to communicate. Many players have trained under him in academies as well. He knows very well what each player is capable of. His guidance has been well-received, which is a positive sign. We can speak openly with him, and he’s quick to point out areas for improvement.”
