Shakib Al Hasan has dominated cricket for more than a decade. However, the former world’s best all-rounder is currently going through a rough patch. Recently, he has been banned from bowling and was also left out of the squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy. In this situation, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has made some strong remarks about Shakib.
Recently, no Bangladeshi cricketer was included in the ICC’s Team of the Year. Referring to this, Aakash Chopra commented that without Shakib, Bangladesh will be lost in world cricket.
Speaking about Bangladesh, Aakash Chopra said, “Since Shakib is no longer playing for Bangladesh, in the near or distant future, no Bangladeshi player will be found in these Teams of the Year.”
He further added, “There is no one in the XI. I am wondering what has happened to Bangladesh cricket. He (Shakib) is not there, and now the team’s name is nowhere to be found. Finished. Whether it’s ODI, T20, or Test—there is no Bangladeshi player anywhere. On and off the field, they are only declining. This is very unfortunate.”
Aakash Chopra has always been an admirer of Shakib. Previously, he even referred to him as “Shakib is the daddy of all-rounders.”
