Tigers to Leave Dhaka Tonight for Champions Trophy

The curtain will rise on the mini World Cup, known as the Champions Trophy, on February 19. The Bangladesh national team is set to depart for the tournament about a week in advance. The Tigers will leave Dhaka for Dubai at 1 AM on Thursday (February 13).

Before the main tournament, the red-and-green representatives will play a warm-up match on February 17.

Ahead of their departure, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held an official photoshoot with players and team management at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

At the press conference, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto shared the team’s ambitions for the tournament:

“We are going with the goal of becoming champions. All eight teams are quality sides and deserve to win, but I truly believe in our team’s capability. There’s no extra pressure; everyone is fully committed and believes we can become champions.”

He added:

“Only Allah knows what is written in our destiny. We are working hard and staying honest in our efforts. We all believe we can reach our goal.”
