BCB Holds Meeting with Former Captains to Improve BPL

While Bangladesh was playing a Champions Trophy warm-up match against Pakistan Shaheens, BCB President Faruq Ahmed held a discussion with former national team captains at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur to address the overall development of the country’s cricket. After the meeting, former captain Rajin Saleh spoke to the media.

Regarding the discussion, Rajin Saleh said, “I want to thank President Faruq Bhai for inviting us. Our primary discussion was about the BPL. We talked about how to further develop the BPL and improve Bangladesh cricket overall.”

He added, “We discussed how to enhance the BPL, update its schedule, and align it with other tournaments like the NCL T20. The goal is to maximize the potential of these tournaments. We also talked about attracting better franchises and top-quality foreign cricketers for the BPL and ensuring their availability by scheduling properly.”

Rajin further mentioned that the meeting covered all domestic tournaments, stating: “It wasn’t just about the BPL. We also discussed how to improve the NCL T20 and enhance the quality of first-class cricket. Various related topics came up. Although time was short, Faruq Bhai may call another meeting in the future. Overall, the focus was on advancing Bangladesh cricket.”

Additionally, he revealed that the discussion even touched on cricket academies: “We also talked about how to develop cricket schools and advance their programs for nurturing future talent.”
