Kohli Reaches Another Milestone in International Cricket

India and New Zealand faced off in the final of the Champions Trophy, and just by stepping onto the field, former Indian captain Virat Kohli achieved a new milestone.

Kohli became only the second Indian cricketer, after Sachin Tendulkar, to play 550 international matches.

This elite club consists of just five other players:
• Sachin Tendulkar (664)
• Mahela Jayawardene (652)
• Kumar Sangakkara (594)
• Sanath Jayasuriya (586)
• Ricky Ponting (560)
• Virat Kohli (550)

So far, Kohli has played 123 Test matches, 302 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 125 T20 Internationals.

His batting records in international cricket stand as follows:
• Tests: 9,230 runs in 123 matches, with 30 centuries and 31 fifties.
• ODIs: 14,180 runs in 301 matches, including 51 centuries.
• T20Is: 4,188 runs in 125 matches, with 1 century and 38 fifties.

Among Indian players, only Sachin Tendulkar has played more international matches than Kohli. Tendulkar played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and 1 T20I, totaling 664 international appearances.
