Bangladesh national team’s pacer Mustafizur Rahman has undergone PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injection treatment. As a result, the left-arm pacer will need to rest for a few days. After the rest period, he is expected to return to competitive cricket.
PRP treatment involves an injection made from the individual’s own platelets, known as Platelet-Rich Plasma injection. It is used to treat ligament and muscle-related injuries. This treatment increases the supply of platelets to the injured or painful area, accelerates the healing process, and helps reduce pain.
The BCB medical department stated, “Mustafiz has received a PRP injection. He will need some rest before returning to the field. He has not sustained a new injury. The shoulder surgery he underwent earlier sometimes causes discomfort, which he has been managing while playing.”
After Eid, Mustafiz is expected to play for Prime Bank Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
