After a two-season break, Shakib Al Hasan is set to return to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He recently participated in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Today, CPL’s official X page announced that Shakib will play for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
So far, Shakib has played five CPL seasons for three different teams. He featured for the Barbados Tridents in 2013 and 2019, Jamaica Tallawahs in 2016 and 2017, and most recently for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2022. Now, after a two-season gap, he will be seen in the CPL once again.
Across 36 CPL matches, Shakib has scored 448 runs, including two half-centuries, and taken 37 wickets at an economy rate of 6.82. In the most recent PSL, Shakib played three matches, picking up just one wicket. He batted in two innings and was dismissed for a duck in both.
In total, Shakib has played 447 T20 matches, scoring 7,438 runs and claiming 493 wickets.
The 13th edition of the CPL begins on August 14. In the opening match, Shakib’s team, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, will take on the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
