Before participating in the Asia Cup, the national team doesn’t have any major fixtures lined up. Players are getting a short break, and the coaching staff has already left Dhaka on Thursday night. After this break, work will resume with a focus on fitness. However, amidst this preparation phase, captain Liton Das has expressed his wish — to play at least one international series before the Asia Cup.
Following the final T20I against Pakistan on Thursday (July 24), Liton said, “It would definitely be good for us if there’s another series after this one (against Pakistan).”
Meanwhile, pacer Taskin Ahmed revealed that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is trying to organize another series ahead of the Asia Cup. Bangladesh was originally scheduled to host India in August after the Pakistan series. However, India postponed the series for a year over a minor issue, creating a significant gap before the Asia Cup campaign.
Looking ahead, Liton also reflected on the team’s structure: “We’ve done some experimentation in certain areas, keeping the future in mind. Those who got opportunities today are all good performers. If this continues, the team will become more balanced.”
