At the beginning of the event, no one gave Al Modina Express a prayer: showy favorites like Shapla Express, Shopner Tori Vaimara, Karom Ali Express, and the defending champion New Uranta Bolaka seemed destined to claim the title. But those big names fell off the pace—while Al Modina Express dug in deep.
In the semi-final, Al Modina Express went head-to-head with Uranta Bolaka in a nail-biter. Right from the first lap, both crews powered their boats in near-perfect synchronicity, trading leads as they surged and ebbed. One moment Uranta Bolaka pulled ahead—only for Al Modina Express to answer back. Soon the crowd on the riverbanks, shifting between smaller boats and open terraces, rose to their feet, cheering as both boats hurtled toward the halfway marker. Then came the turning point: Al Modina Express’s unity and sheer resolve saw them edge ahead, leaving Uranta Bolaka reeling. They crossed the line with a breath to spare—shaking off the favorite and sealing their spot in the final.
There, they faced Padma Express, another boat from the same village. Padma gave a valiant fight, but Al Modina Express’s oarsmen were adamant—they refused to wilt. Driven by steady rhythm, unity, and unwavering focus, Al Modina Express powered past to claim the championship.
