After weeks of diplomatic uncertainty, Mohsin Naqvi, the ACC President and PCB Chairman, has confirmed the Asia Cup 2025 will commence on 9 September 2025. The tournament is set to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates, serving as a neutral venue amid Indo‑Pak tensions and logistical concerns. The Asia Cup will run from 9 to 28 September, featuring eight teams—including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong—competing in the T20I format. A decision about the schedule and India‑Pakistan fixtures was finalized following constructive discussion between ACC and BCCI leadership during the AGM in Dhaka, where India agreed to attend virtually.
