On Wednesday, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul spoke to the media and expressed his strong confidence in the Tigers’ chances at this year’s Asia Cup.
Bulbul said: “In this format, most teams are almost the same in terms of batting and bowling. But the real difference will come from running between the wickets and fielding. If we can score 15 extra runs through running between the wickets or save 10 runs in the field, those 25 runs could decide the outcome of a match.”
Bangladesh will play three group-stage matches, including their third against Afghanistan. Speaking about that game, Bulbul remarked: “Their venue is in the UAE. Earlier it was Abu Dhabi, now it’s Sharjah. They might get some home advantage. But given the skill set of our players, I’m sure if they give their all, they’ll do well.”
Above all, the BCB President shared his expectations for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup: “I believe we have the potential to go very far. And in this format, it’s very difficult to predict anything. But I am very confident about this team.”
Meanwhile, from Wednesday, a three-day “Run Scoring Workshop” organized by the BCB has begun at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The workshop, conducted by Australian coaching experts Ashley Ross and Ian Renshaw, aims to further enhance batting strategies and run-scoring skills.
