India wins title and $300,000 – how much does Pakistan get?

For the first time ever, India and Pakistan faced each other in an Asia Cup final. As expected, the clash turned into a fierce battle. In a nail-biting finish that went down to the last over, Suryakumar Yadav’s India emerged victorious. With the unbeaten side lifting the trophy, questions naturally arose about how much prize money they would receive.

This year’s Asia Cup prize pool has increased significantly compared to previous editions. Although the ICC has not yet made an official announcement, several Indian media outlets, citing sources in the organizing committee, have reported that the champion team, India, will receive $300,000 — equivalent to about 36.4 million Bangladeshi Taka.

In comparison, the 2023 ODI Asia Cup champions received $250,000, while in 2022 the winners were awarded $200,000. This time, the prize money has gone up considerably.

Runners-up Pakistan will take home $150,000 — roughly 18 million Bangladeshi Taka. Bangladesh, who finished third, will earn around 6 million Taka, while fourth-placed Sri Lanka will receive approximately 4 million Taka.

The ICC has not yet officially disclosed the exact prize distribution figures.
