Mustafizur Rahman will not be playing in this year’s ILT20.

Before the auction, he had joined Dubai Capitals as a replacement for Luke Wood. However, the franchise has released him even before the tournament began.

The reason is that Mustafizur did not receive a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to take part in the UAE’s franchise tournament. As a result, the “Cutter Master” will miss the event. Dubai has already signed Haider Ali as his replacement.

On Thursday (October 2), defending champions Dubai Capitals announced their squad list for the upcoming ILT20 season. Mustafizur’s name was not on it.

Although a few months ago the team confirmed signing him as Luke Wood’s replacement, the latest development shows that due to the absence of an NOC from the BCB, Dubai brought in Haider Ali instead.

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan—who recently played in the Global T20 League for this franchise—has joined MI Emirates. Mustafizur, on the other hand, plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, a sister franchise of Dubai Capitals.
