In the National Cricket League (NCL) T20 at the Sylhet Outer Stadium, Chattogram posted 138 runs, led by Irfan Sukkur’s innings. However, Rangpur chased down the target with 12 balls and 5 wickets to spare. Nasir Hossain was named Player of the Match. In the next game, Anamul Haque Bijoy shone with the bat, guiding Khulna to an 8-wicket victory over Barishal.
Nasir Hossain and Anamul Haque won matches for their respective teams in two different games. In Friday’s NCL T20 match at the Sylhet Academy Ground, Nasir’s all-round performance powered Rangpur to a five-wicket win over Chattogram. Chasing 139, Rangpur reached the target with two overs remaining.
For Chattogram, Irfan Sukkur remained unbeaten on 64 off 46 balls, while Yasir Ali scored the second-highest 22 runs. Rangpur pacer Abdul Gaffar took three wickets, and Nasir picked up one wicket for 38 runs in his four overs of off-spin.
In reply, Rangpur lost opener Anik Sarkar early, with just 12 runs on the board. The second-wicket partnership between Zahid Javed and Nasir added 78 runs. Zahid scored 39 off 32 balls, while Nasir made 43 off 32. After losing five wickets, skipper Akbar Ali guided the team home with an unbeaten 26 off 14 balls.
In the day’s second match, Khulna secured a comprehensive 8-wicket victory over Barishal. Batting first after losing the toss, Barishal managed 137 runs for 7 wickets. In response, Khulna comfortably chased down the target in 16.3 overs. Nearly half of Khulna’s runs came from opener Anamul Haque, who remained unbeaten on 72 off 47 balls.
Earlier, for Barishal, Iftikhar Hossain top-scored with 34 runs off 32 balls. For Khulna, Sheikh Parvez Hossain and Ziaur Rahman each claimed two wickets.
