Star batter Babar Azam returned to Pakistan’s T20 team after almost 10 months. Since his comeback, he has been setting records regularly. But not all records are pleasant—some are so embarrassing that even Babar himself would feel ashamed.
In Rawalpindi on Thursday (27 November), Pakistan faced Sri Lanka in the final T20 match of the tri-nation series. Sri Lanka won by 7 runs and secured their place in the final. In that match, Babar faced two balls but couldn’t score a run. He was trapped lbw by Dushmantha Chameera and registered the 10th duck of his international T20 career. With this, Babar has now joined Saim Ayub and Umar Akmal at the top of the list for most ducks for Pakistan in T20Is.
Pakistan set another record in this match against Sri Lanka—they played 55 international matches this year, the most in a single year in their cricket history. On Saturday, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will meet again in the final of this tri-nation series. The third team, Zimbabwe, was eliminated from the league stage. Notably, Babar had also been dismissed for a duck earlier in the series against Zimbabwe.

Babar Azam – 10
Saim Ayub – 10
