Rangpur Riders appointed Mickey Arthur as their head coach for the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Sohel Islam was the team’s head coach in the previous season. Clearly, this renowned coach will not be with Rangpur this time.
Rangpur confirmed the appointment of Arthur on their official Facebook page yesterday. With a picture of Arthur, they wrote, “Welcome to Rangpur Riders, Head Coach Mickey Arthur! Rangpur Riders are ready to create a new history under the guidance of such a world-class coach!
Although he didn’t have the opportunity to play for the national team, Arthur has 15 centuries and more than 10,000 runs in domestic cricket. However, his coaching career is quite successful. Besides his home country South Africa, he has worked as the head coach of Australia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Under his guidance, Pakistan won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
Apart from that, Arthur has served as the coach of the English county club Derbyshire, the Australian domestic cricket club Western Warriors, the Pakistan Super League franchise Karachi Kings, the Lanka Premier League team Dambulla Aura, and Dhaka Dynamites in the 2015 BPL
