Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder Steer South Africa to Victory

First Test match between South Africa and Bangladesh, the Proteas emerged victorious by seven wickets. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bat first, but the South African bowling attack quickly made inroads into the Bangladeshi top order.
While the Proteas themselves struggled to get off to a solid start in their first innings, a crucial 136-run partnership between Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder provided the much-needed stability. South Africa eventually declared their first innings at 308 runs.
Bangladesh’s response in their first innings was hindered by early wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Zakir Ali showed some resilience, but the hosts were dismissed for 307 runs, setting South Africa a target of 106 runs to win.
In their second innings, South Africa’s batters displayed a clinical approach, chasing down the target with relative ease. The Proteas’ victory not only secures a 1-0 lead in the two-match series but also highlights their strength in Test cricket.
