Bangladesh is all set to face Afghanistan in a highly anticipated three-match ODI series starting tomorrow. Originally scheduled for July-August, the series was postponed due to extreme weather conditions and a packed calendar, but now cricket fans from both nations eagerly await the renewed face-off.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), after coordinating with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has confirmed all three matches will be day-night games, scheduled to start at 4 PM Bangladesh time. Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host the series, with matches set for November 6, 9, and 11. This move to day-night matches aims to ease conditions for players amid the high temperatures expected in the UAE.
This series is part of a postponed full tour that initially included two Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is planned for Greater Noida, India. However, adjustments were necessary as both boards considered player wellbeing alongside Bangladesh’s packed international schedule. Following the Afghanistan series, the Bangladesh team will head to the West Indies to compete in another three-match ODI series.
Series Schedule
1st ODI: November 6, 4 PM (BST), Sharjah
2nd ODI: November 9, 4 PM (BST), Sharjah
3rd ODI: November 11, 4 PM (BST), Sharjah
Both teams are expected to field strong lineups, with Bangladesh seeking to fine-tune its form ahead of the West Indies tour and Afghanistan looking to challenge a familiar opponent. With the recent success and rivalry between the two teams, fans can expect competitive, thrilling cricket in this short but intense series.
