Bangladesh in a Good Position Thanks to Shanto’s Fifty

In the second match against Afghanistan, Bangladesh has no option but to win to stay alive in the series. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Bangladesh got off to a good start. However, the Tigers were hit by a couple of quick wickets. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s fifty has now helped Bangladesh recover and move forward.

The two openers, Tanzid Tamim and Soumya Sarkar, provided a strong start. Tanzid played an aggressive game, but despite a good beginning, he could not settle and was dismissed for 22 runs off 17 balls, with the team score at 28. He was dismissed by Allah Ghazanfar, who had troubled Bangladesh in the previous match.

Shanto then joined Soumya and together they put up a 71-run partnership, stabilizing the innings. However, at a team total of 99, Soumya was dismissed for 35 runs off 49 balls by Rashid Khan. Shanto then continued to keep the runs flowing with Mehedi Hasan Miraz, and with smooth batting, the Bangladesh captain reached his fifty off 75 balls.”
