Bangladesh crosses 100 runs slowly

Despite a good start, Bangladesh’s scoring rate slowed down due to a stumble. Riding on the batting of captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah, Bangladesh reached the 100-run mark in 23.2 overs.

In this series-deciding match, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat. Though Tanzid and Soumya put up an opening partnership of 53 runs, the team found itself in trouble as they quickly lost rhythm. Bangladesh lost three batters within just five runs, from 53 to 58.

Towhid Hridoy, who has been struggling with the bat throughout the series, managed to score only seven runs. Bangladesh, who had lost four wickets for 72 runs, is now being supported by captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh had scored 112 runs for four wickets in 25 overs. Miraz is batting with 30 runs off 55 balls, while Mahmudullah has made 17 runs from 22 balls.

Notably, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have each won one of the first two ODIs in the three-match series. Bangladesh lost the first ODI to Afghanistan by 92 runs but bounced back with a 68-run victory in the second. Therefore, this last ODI has now turned into the series-deciding match.
