Tigers Begin West Indies Tour with First Test Today

The first Test match between Bangladesh and the West Indies kicks off today at 8:00 PM Bangladesh Time. Back in 2022, Bangladesh lost their Test series to the West Indies by a margin of 2-0. This year, Bangladesh is touring the West Indies for a full series encompassing Tests, ODIs, and T20s.

Bangladesh played their last Test against the West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua in 2022. Today, they return to the same venue for the first Test of the current series. The pitch at Antigua is known for its unpredictability, potentially favoring both spinners and pacers as the match progresses.

In the 2022 Test at this venue, Bangladesh lost by 7 wickets, with Kemar Roach claiming a 7-wicket haul. This time around, Roach alongside Jayden Seales and Alzarri Joseph pose a significant threat to the Bangladeshi batting lineup.

Unfortunately, Bangladesh will be missing the services of their most experienced batsman, Mushfiqur Rahim, due to a finger injury. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto is also injured. These two batsmen’s experience would have been crucial for Bangladesh, but they will be sorely missed.
