The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has banned eight players and one team official for one year due to breaches of the code of conduct during a Third Division Cricket League match. In addition to the bans, each individual has been fined BDT 50,000, as announced in a press release today.
The incident occurred on November 18 at PKSF’s Ground No. 1 during a Super League match between Tejgaon Cricket Academy and Sapphire Sporting Club. Midway through the game, a heated altercation broke out between players from both teams. Following an investigation, the BCB found them guilty of a Level 4 offense under Article 2.19 of its Code of Conduct.
The punished individuals include:
From Tejgaon Cricket Academy: Yasir Arafat, Rifat Al Imon (Anik), Tasin Ahmed Ronbi, Rabbi Hasan, Parvez Ahmed Joy, and team official Robin.
From Sapphire Sporting Club: Rana Khan, Saiful Islam Shawon, and Mohammad Hridoy.
BCB President Faruk Ahmed commented, “BCB will not tolerate any breach of discipline at any level of domestic competition. This serves as a clear message to players and officials that the board will take strict action against such misconduct.”
