Thank you for fighting for us with courage – Chennai Super Kings”

The IPL mega auction took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where it was a disappointing event for Bangladeshi cricketers. A record 12 Bangladeshi players registered in hopes of being picked, but only Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain made it to the final auction list. Despite this, none of the IPL franchises showed interest, leaving all Bangladeshi players unsold.

Fans in Bangladesh, particularly disappointed by Mustafizur Rahman’s exclusion, are finding it hard to accept this outcome. Many expected the left-arm pacer, who took 14 wickets in 9 matches for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last season, to secure a spot for a second stint with the team.

The 10 IPL franchises have now finalized their squads. CSK, which released several players before the auction, showed no interest in retaining Mustafiz or other notable players like New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell.

However, CSK took to their official Facebook page to acknowledge and remember their former players, including Mustafizur. In a heartfelt post, the franchise shared a message:
“Thank you for fighting for us with courage. Your energy and spirit will always remain a proud part of us. Best wishes for your future battles, always.”
