Taskin Ahmed, a Bangladeshi speedster, recently made history in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He bowled an incredible spell of 4 overs, taking a staggering 7 wickets for just 19 runs against Dhaka Capitals. This performance broke the previous record for the best bowling figures in BPL history, previously held by Mohammad Amir.
Taskin’s figures are now the third-best in recognized T20 cricket worldwide. Only Syazrul Idrus of Malaysia and Colin Ackermann of England have better bowling figures in T20 matches.
Taskin’s destructive spell started early. He dismissed Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan in his first two overs. He returned in the 17th over to remove Shahadat Hossain Dipu and Chaturanga de Silva. In his final over, he took three wickets, narrowly missing a hat-trick.
Despite Taskin’s heroics, Dhaka Capitals managed to score a competitive total of 174 runs. However, Taskin’s performance was undoubtedly the highlight of the match. It showcased his exceptional skills and cemented his position as one of the top fast bowlers in T20 cricket.
