The upcoming cricket battle between Bangladesh and South Africa promises to be an intriguing encounter, especially considering the recent setbacks both teams have faced. There is great anticipation surrounding how these two teams, both reeling from recent disappointments, will perform. The news of Temba Bavuma being ruled out of the first Test in Bangladesh due to a muscle strain has added to the anxiety. In his absence, Aiden Markram will lead the South African side in the first Test scheduled to take place in Dhaka from October 21st.
According to the Cricket South Africa (CSA) statements, Bavuma is expected to travel with the squad to Dhaka on Tuesday and continue his recovery under the supervision of the Proteas medical team in preparation for the second Test. It’s worth noting that Bavuma was also ruled out of the third and final ODI against Ireland. Additionally, Dewald Brevis and Lungi Ngidi have been called up to the squad, with Nandre Burger previously ruled out of the series due to a lumbar stress reaction.
With Temba Bavuma currently under the care of the Proteas medical team, there is hope that he will be fit to play in the second Test starting on October 29th in Chattogram.
