The three-match T20I series will begin on August 30 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. To take part in the series, the Dutch team has already arrived in Dhaka. After taking a short rest in the capital, they departed for Sylhet on a 12:30 p.m. flight on Wednesday. This is the Netherlands’ first-ever bilateral series in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh were originally scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is against India in August. However, the BCCI canceled the tour after not receiving the government’s approval. As a result, Bangladesh would have gone almost one and a half months without any international matches before the Asia Cup. Under these circumstances, responding to the BCB’s invitation, the Netherlands agreed to play this three-match series in Bangladesh.
After arriving in Sylhet, the visiting players will rest today. Tomorrow evening and the following afternoon, they are scheduled to practice at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The Bangladesh–Netherlands series will kick off with the first T20I on August 30. The next two matches will take place on September 1 and 3. All three games will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, starting at 6:00 p.m.
It is worth mentioning that the Bangladesh team has been in Sylhet since August 20 for this series and Asia Cup preparations. Before that, Liton Das and his teammates trained for about ten days in Dhaka. Their Asia Cup campaign will begin on September 11 with a match against Hong Kong.
