The Bangladesh national football team has arrived in Shillong to face India in their first match of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The away match is scheduled to take place on March 25.
The team departed from Dhaka on Thursday morning, taking a flight to Kolkata. After a brief layover, they reached Shillong Airport at 4 PM. Following their arrival, the players headed straight to their team hotel.
For the first time, English Premier League footballer Hamza Dewan Choudhury will represent Bangladesh. Alongside him, forward Al Amin Hossain is another new face in the squad.
However, Bangladesh’s final 23-man squad has yet to be confirmed. Since the coach has not made a final decision, 24 players have traveled to India. The final squad will be decided on March 24 after the manager’s meeting, with one player being excluded from the list.
