“Bangladeshi star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has officially entered the HBL PSL draft.”

The 11th season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin on December 30. However, Shakib Al Hasan’s participation in the tournament remains uncertain due to various allegations, including a murder case filed against him in Bangladesh. With the possibility of him not returning to the country anytime soon, Shakib has opted to enter Pakistan’s franchise league, the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The PSL management shared a 59-second video on their official Facebook page yesterday evening, showcasing some of Shakib’s remarkable batting and spin-bowling moments. The caption read: “Bangladeshi star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has officially entered the HBL PSL draft,” accompanied by an emoji of the Bangladeshi flag.

The PSL is usually held between February and March. However, the 10th season (2025 PSL) will not be possible during that window due to the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 17 to March 9, 2025, in Pakistan and the UAE under a hybrid model.

As a result, the PSL is expected to overlap with the IPL schedule. The 2025 PSL draft is set for January 11, while the IPL 2025 will run from March 14 to May 25. If selected, Shakib is likely to play in the PSL during this time.
