The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Ireland. Nazmul Hossain Shanto will lead the team.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy has returned to the squad for this series. On the other hand, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mahidul Islam Ankon, and Nayeem Hasan have been dropped from the team that played the last Test series against Sri Lanka.
The series is an important one for both Bangladesh and Ireland. It will serve as an opportunity to integrate new players, assess the form of experienced cricketers, and test team strategies.
The Ireland team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on November 6. The first Test will begin on November 11 at the Sylhet International Stadium, while the second Test will be held on November 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
This series could mark a special milestone for Bangladesh’s veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim, as playing both matches would make him the first Bangladeshi cricketer to reach 100 Test appearances.
