BCB official dies of heart attack during Sylhet Test

Md. Ikram Chowdhury, the Security Coordinator of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, has passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un).

On Wednesday morning, during the fourth day of the Bangladesh-Zimbabwe Test, Ikram Chowdhury suddenly fell ill while on duty at the stadium. He was rushed to a private hospital in Sylhet, where he breathed his last. The cause of death was a heart attack, confirmed to the media by Dewan Tayef Hasan Chowdhury, BCB’s Media Coordinator (Sylhet Cricket Stadium).

According to reports, Ikram was performing his duties at the stadium during the fourth day of the match when he suddenly became unwell. He was immediately taken to the nearby Al Haramain Hospital, where he passed away.

Family members have said that Ikram suffered a cardiac arrest, which ultimately led to his death.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed deep sorrow over his passing. Ikram had been serving as BCB’s Security Coordinator in Sylhet since 2014, according to the board.
