The cricketing world is set for another thrilling encounter as the mighty West Indies take on Sri Lanka in a three-match T20 series. The series will be played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has made some changes to their squad for this series, with middle-order batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa returning after being left out of the previous series against India. However, former captain Dasun Shanaka has been dropped from the team. In his place, 22-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe, who made his debut against India, retains his spot.
Dinesh Chandimal, who was named in the squad against India but hasn’t played a T20 match since 2022, has also been retained. His inclusion is likely due to his strong performances in the Test format.
On the spin bowling front, Sri Lanka has a plethora of options to choose from, including Hasaranga, Vandersay, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dunith Wellalage. Kamindu Mendis could also contribute with some overs.
Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva has not been included in the T20 squad.
