Drone Attack at Rawalpindi Stadium; Nahid and Rishad Are Safe

In response to the attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, India has continued its retaliation with ongoing strikes in Pakistan. India has carried out drone attacks in Pakistan, which has led to the suspension of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Two Bangladeshi national team cricketers, Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana, who are currently in Pakistan to participate in the PSL, were reportedly shaken by the attack.

Nahid is playing for Peshawar Zalmi and Rishad for Lahore Qalandars. However, both players are safe for now. The PSL 2025 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, scheduled to be held at Rawalpindi Stadium on Thursday (May 8), is now uncertain.

Due to the drone attack, no further PSL matches will be held at Rawalpindi Stadium for the time being. It is being reported that the remaining PSL matches may be relocated to Karachi Stadium. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called an emergency meeting to make a decision regarding the PSL.

On Thursday, several foreign players, including Rishad and Nahid, met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to express their desire to return to their home countries.

A source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that both Rishad and Nahid are safe. While they are concerned about the drone attack, they have expressed a strong desire to return home as soon as possible.
