There had been concerns regarding the series, but those have now been put to rest. However, the T20 series between Bangladesh and Pakistan is being pushed back. Pakistan was initially scheduled to play the first T20 against Litton Das and his team on the 25th, but now that match may be delayed by two days to the 27th or even three days to the 28th. However, no official decision has been announced yet.
Citing sources from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), several Pakistani media outlets have reported that the much-anticipated series between the two nations will be delayed. The reason, they say, is the resumption of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which had been halted due to the India-Pakistan conflict. The PSL will now return with a new schedule, with the final scheduled for May 25 — the same day the first T20 between Bangladesh and Pakistan was to be held. The PCB is in communication with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and as a result, the series is being rescheduled.
Although the series will start later, the number of matches will remain unchanged. However, the number of venues will be reduced. Instead of two venues, the five-match series will now take place at a single venue. The match timings are not expected to change. On Monday, Pakistani media outlet The Express Tribune reported that after playing a series in the UAE, the Tigers will travel directly to Pakistan on May 21.
Earlier, the PCB had announced that Bangladesh would arrive in Pakistan on May 21. The Tigers are scheduled to train at Iqbal Stadium on May 22 and 24, with the T20 series against Pakistan beginning the following day. According to the FTP, the tour originally included three ODIs and three T20Is. However, keeping the World Cup in mind, both BCB and PCB decided to play a five-match T20I series instead. The Truth International reported that the number of matches will not be reduced and that the PCB will announce the new schedule soon.
Following this series, Pakistan is scheduled to tour Bangladesh to play a three-match T20I series.
