Bangladesh was whitewashed by the West Indies in the three-match ODI series. Now, the two teams will face each other in the T20 series. Bangladesh captain Liton Das believes this series will also be challenging, but he remains optimistic about performing well. In a video released by the BCB, Liton said, “T20 matches are usually a bit tough for us. Since this series will be played in the West Indies’ home ground, it will obviously be challenging for us. However, we will try to overcome the difficulties and aim to play a good series.”
All the matches of the T20 series will be held in Saint Vincent, a venue where Bangladesh has prior experience playing in the T20 World Cup. During the World Cup, the venue was known for low-scoring games, but Liton believes this time the pitch will be different. He added, “There is a bit of difference between the wicket during the World Cup and now. When we practiced yesterday, it didn’t seem the same. Perhaps they have prepared it differently this time.”
The first T20 match between Bangladesh and West Indies will start at 6 AM Bangladesh time on Monday, December 16. The remaining two matches will be played on December 18 and 20.
