“I Exhibit Aggressive Behavior Due to My Tendency to Overdo Things” — Kohli

Virat Kohli’s aggressive demeanor on the cricket field is well-known. Over the years, he has tried to rein in his behavior, but the intense pressure of the game occasionally brings out his old self.

In the most recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli was fined for pushing Australian opener Sam Constance. Speaking at an event hosted by his IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli admitted, “I exhibit such aggressive behavior due to my tendency to overdo things. I’ve never shied away from this. Some people may not like it, but this attitude stems from my never-give-up mentality.”

However, Kohli acknowledges that such aggression on the field isn’t always pleasant to watch. Reflecting on his recent actions, he added, “I want to say that what I did recently (pushing Constance) wasn’t a good thing. Honestly, I don’t feel good about it either. Some people may criticize you for it, but I believe there are many others who actually enjoy it.”

Even at 36, Kohli’s competitive spirit remains strong. He stated, “My competitive spirit hasn’t diminished. You can be aggressive in your mind, but there’s no need to express it out of frustration, which I tend to do at times.”
