“I Have Received My Payment as Per the Contract: William Bosisto”

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has recently been embroiled in discussions surrounding payment issues, primarily involving teams like Duronto Rajshahi and Chittagong Kings. In a controversial incident, Rajshahi failed to pay its players on time, leading to no foreign players taking the field against Rangpur Riders. The franchise was unable to get the foreign players out of their hotel rooms.

Following this, during a post-match press conference after the Barishal-Khulna game, foreign stars Dawid Malan and William Bosisto were asked about payment-related issues. Both players responded positively, confirming that they had received their payments. However, they expressed their regret over the situation involving other teams.

Khulna cricketer William Bosisto said in the press conference, “I have received my payment as per the contract. But I’ve heard that there has been an issue with another team, which is a bit disappointing. As for our franchise, everything has been fine.”

When asked if the payment controversy could negatively affect the reputation of the BPL, the Australian cricketer replied, “It does cast a negative shadow over the tournament. However, as players, our job is to stay prepared and give our best on the field. It’s the responsibility of the franchises or owners to honor the contractual agreements. I feel fortunate to be part of a well-managed team like Khulna.”

Speaking about Khulna’s future plans, Bosisto added, “The loss was disappointing for us, but we’re not giving up hope. We aim to win our next two games and secure a place in the top four. If we can win five matches from here, we’ll become the BPL champions. The entire team is focused on this goal, and we’re working on rectifying the mistakes we made in previous matches.”

Barishal cricketer Dawid Malan also addressed the payment issue, saying, “In my team, I haven’t seen any problems, nor have I discussed it with anyone else. It’s important for the tournament to conclude smoothly. Our job is to play, and it’s the owners’ responsibility to ensure payments are made. For the tournament’s future, such issues should be avoided. It’s a simple matter—if someone pays, the team exists; if they don’t, it doesn’t.”

When asked about Barishal captain Tamim Iqbal, Malan commented, “He’s a fantastic captain. He always keeps the team motivated and energized.”
