IPL: 9 Cricketers Suddenly Dropped Just Before the Auction

The IPL mini auction will be held next Tuesday (16 December) in Abu Dhabi. Just ahead of the auction, nine cricketers have been removed from the final list.

Following this decision on Saturday, the move has sparked widespread discussion and speculation in the cricketing world. However, the IPL authorities have not yet provided any official explanation regarding the matter.

More than a thousand cricketers had registered for the IPL auction. From that pool, an initial shortlist of 350 players was released last week. Later, nine more players were added, increasing the list to 359.

But right before the auction, nine players were dropped from that list. Among them, six are Indian and three are overseas players.

The Indian players are Moni Sarkar, Mura Singh, Chama Milind, KL Sreejit, Swastik Chikara, Rahul Raj Namala, and Virat Singh.
The overseas players are Malaysia’s experienced all-rounder Virandeep Singh, South African pacer Ethan Bosch, and Australian all-rounder Chris Green.

Despite making the shortlist, the sudden exclusion of these nine players at the last moment—and the silence from the IPL authorities—has raised many questions among cricket fans.

It is worth noting that the IPL mini auction will take place on 16 December in Abu Dhabi, where franchises will participate in buying and selling players to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.
