From the start of the Champions Trophy, Kamran Akmal’s criticism has been ongoing. The former cricketer once again lashed out at his own country’s cricket performance.
Kamran remarked, “Pakistan either reaches the moon or falls into a ditch.” Unfortunately, Pakistan has fallen into the ditch this time. Mohammad Rizwan’s team lost both of their matches. According to Kamran, even a fourth-tier team could defeat this Pakistan side. The former star also criticized Pakistan’s cricket management.
On the day of the trophy presentation, no Pakistani player stood on the podium, which sparked controversy. Kamran believes that the team’s performance made them unworthy of being on that stage.
The former Pakistani batter stated, “Pakistan doesn’t deserve anyone on the stage. The ICC has held a mirror to us. We haven’t played good cricket. Even smaller teams are defeating us. No one is talking about how Pakistan organized the tournament, but if we continue playing like this, we will receive such treatment. No one will show us any respect.”
Expressing his frustration over the team’s poor performance, Akmal added, “We aren’t even capable of defeating an opponent’s D team. In our country, a full-strength team would be defeated by another nation’s D team. Respect comes only when you play well and win. And as for India, they will always beat us.”
