Khulna’s Chase Seals Playoff Spot

Khulna Tigers secured their spot in the Eliminators with a thrilling six-wicket victory against Dhaka, clinching the fourth position on the points table during the final day of the league stage. Led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who shone with an impressive unbeaten 74 off 55 balls—including five fours and four sixes—Khulna easily chased down Dhaka’s total of 123 runs, finishing at 128-4 in just 16.5 overs. Miraz also played a crucial role with the ball, taking one wicket for 30 runs to help keep Dhaka’s score in check at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. With this win, Khulna wrapped up the group phase with 12 points, matching Durbar Rajshahi’s score but earning their playoff spot based on net run rate. They are all set to play in the Eliminator!

Mustafizur Rahman made things interesting for Khulna early on, taking 3 wickets for just 16 runs in four overs, including the key wickets of Naim Sheikh and Afif Hossain, putting Khulna in a spot of trouble at 14-2.

But Miraz stayed calm and aggressive, steering the ship alongside Alex Ross in a solid 68-run partnership that helped Khulna take control.Dhaka won the toss and chose to bat first. Tanzid Hasan Tamim got them off to a great start with his explosive batting alongside Litton Das. Unfortunately, other batters struggled to score, with Litton managing just 10 runs, and Habibur Rahman Sohon and Formanullah failing to make much impact as well.

Tanzid Tamim, however, was on fire, smashing his way to a fantastic 58 off just 37 balls, including one four and an impressive seven sixes before getting out.

Towards the end, Sabbir Rahman (20 off 17 balls) and Mehedi Hasan Rana (13 off 11 balls) did their best to boost the score, but Dhaka’s total remained within reach for Khulna Tigers. It was a balanced contest, but Khulna pulled through in style!
