Kohli became only the second Indian cricketer, after Sachin Tendulkar, to play 550 international matches.

His batting records in international cricket stand as follows:
• Tests: 9,230 runs in 123 matches, with 30 centuries and 31 fifties.
• ODIs: 14,180 runs in 301 matches, including 51 centuries.
• T20Is: 4,188 runs in 125 matches, with 1 century and 38 fifties.
Among Indian players, only Sachin Tendulkar has played more international matches than Kohli. Tendulkar played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and 1 T20I, totaling 664 international appearances.
