Mustafizur Granted NOC by BCB to Play in the IPL

Pacer Mustafizur Rahman has officially been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Although it was confirmed earlier that he would join Delhi Capitals on May 14, there had been uncertainty regarding his participation due to the NOC issue. That concern has now been resolved.

In a statement today, the BCB announced that Mustafiz has been given permission to play in the IPL from May 18 to 24. The BCB’s Cricket Operations Department stated, “National team pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been granted a No Objection Certificate to play in the IPL from May 18 to 24.”

Following the IPL break, matches will resume tomorrow, but Delhi Capitals’ next fixture is scheduled for May 18. Mustafiz is expected to be available for that game. Before joining the IPL, he will represent Bangladesh on May 17 in the first T20I against the UAE.

Mustafiz previously played for Delhi Capitals in the 2022 IPL season, having been picked by the franchise in the auction. This time, the left-arm pacer has been called up as a replacement for Australian cricketer Jake Fraser-McGurk.
