‘New Rules Introduced for Players’ Family Members in the IPL’

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced several new rules to make the Indian Premier League (IPL) more disciplined. Notably, strict restrictions have been imposed on the family members of players, and traveling by the team bus has been made mandatory.

Recently, BCCI informed all franchises about the new regulations via email. Before that, on February 18, a meeting was held over Zoom with franchise team managers to explain the rules.

New Rules for Family Members

BCCI has stated that even on practice days, players’ family members will not be allowed to enter the dressing room. They were already restricted from entering on match days. On practice days, only authorized staff will be permitted inside the dressing room and on the field. Family members of players must travel separately and can watch practice sessions from the guest gallery.

Additionally, further guidelines have been provided for franchises.
