No News of Postponement of India Series in August – BCB President

India is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in August to play two white-ball series, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already announced the fixture. However, reports in the Indian media have created some uncertainty regarding the series.

On Saturday (May 3), speaking to the media after the prize distribution ceremony of the Dhaka Third Division Cricket League qualifiers final, BCB President Faruq Ahmed stated that, as of now, the series is expected to proceed as scheduled.

The BCB President said, “At this moment, we haven’t received any official communication from India regarding changes to the series. I did see a report in one Indian media outlet. However, India has confirmed the full tour, and the schedule has already been prepared. I attended two ICC meetings and spoke with Jay Shah and also had discussions with the new secretary, Debojit Saikia. I believe the schedule we have came from those conversations. I still think the series will take place on time.”

On Friday (May 2), Indian media outlet Times of India, citing sources, reported that India’s tour of Bangladesh in August has not yet been finalized. The source further said there is “little possibility” of the series being held on schedule.
