Pakistan is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in March–April next year for a full bilateral series. The tour includes two Test matches (part of the World Test Championship), along with three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). However, due to a scheduling clash with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the tour will be held in two separate phases.
Last Sunday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the PSL schedule. The franchise tournament will run from March 26 to May 3. As a result, it is not possible to adjust the timing of Pakistan’s tour, although the number of matches will remain unchanged. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has viewed this proposal positively.
BCB director Nazmul Abedin Fahim confirmed at a press conference on Thursday that the series will take place in two phases—before and after the PSL. He said, “Due to the PSL, the schedule of the series has to be adjusted. The series will be played in two parts.”
Meanwhile, whether the ODI series or the T20I series will be played first will depend on discussions between the two boards. No official announcement has been made on this matter yet.
