The Pakistan Super League (PSL) will no longer be broadcast in India. This decision was made following the attack in Pahalgam.
On Tuesday (April 22), a gunmen attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of 26 people. The incident has further strained the already tense relationship between the two rival neighbors. Whenever political tensions rise between India and Pakistan, cricket is often among the first areas to be affected.
As part of that ongoing pattern, the decision has now been made to suspend the broadcast of the PSL in India. Previously, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had stated that it would never engage in a bilateral series with Pakistan again.
Meanwhile, in response to the Pahalgam attack and India’s subsequent accusations and actions against Pakistan, the Pakistani government has decided to send back Indian personnel who were working in the PSL. These individuals were involved in the league’s broadcasting operations, and their departure may disrupt PSL coverage.
A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said, “There are several Indian nationals involved in the broadcasting of the Pakistan Super League. They have been asked to return to India.”
