Young Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has been picked by Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Liton Das has joined Karachi Kings, while emerging pacer Nahid Rana was selected by Peshawar Zalmi from the Golden Category.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday (January 14), the day after the announcement, Rishad said, “Getting an opportunity anywhere is a matter of luck. Alhamdulillah. I don’t expect anything like IPL, Big Bash, or PSL. For now, I’m focused on the BPL. When the time comes, I’ll give my best.”
Rishad revealed that he remained calm upon hearing the news of being selected. He said, “My agent told me that I got a chance in Lahore Qalandars. I had a feeling I might get picked, so I was normal about it.”
When asked about missing the opportunity to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) earlier, Rishad said, “Since I couldn’t go, I don’t know what could have happened there. Allah has written everything for a reason. Maybe something better awaits in the future. So, I’m not overthinking what could have been.”
Rishad now looks forward to showcasing his talent in the PSL and continuing his growth in competitive cricket.
