The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin tomorrow at 1:30 PM at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, assuming everything goes as planned. Pakistan’s star pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, arrived in Dhaka on Friday to play in the BPL for the first time. He will represent Fortune Barishal, answering the call of Tamim Iqbal.
Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi, the legendary cricketer from Pakistan and Shaheen’s father-in-law, has also arrived in Dhaka. This time, he is here as a goodwill ambassador for Chattogram Kings. Afridi, who has previously played in six BPL seasons for teams like Dhaka Gladiators, Sylhet Superstars, Rangpur Riders, Dhaka Dynamites, Comilla Victorians, and Dhaka Platoon, will serve as a mentor and brand ambassador for Chattogram Kings.
Two days earlier, Shaheen Afridi spoke about his father-in-law’s involvement, saying, “He is coming as an advisor. I hope young Bangladeshi cricketers will learn a lot from him.”
