For the first time in the history of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has stepped into franchise ownership. Shakib Khan has acquired the Dhaka Capitals franchise. On the opening day of the tournament, his team faces Rangpur Riders in the second match. On Monday (December 30), Dhaka’s captain, Thisara Perera, won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Dhaka has built a star-studded team, including local stars like Liton Das and Mustafizur Rahman. They aim to start the tournament with a win.
On the other hand, Rangpur Riders, as always, have assembled a strong squad. They have signed hard-hitting batter Alex Hales, a T20 World Cup winner. Alongside him, Steven Taylor, Khushdil Shah, and Iftikhar Ahmed make up Rangpur’s quartet of overseas players.
