Shaun Tait Appointed as Bangladesh’s New Pace Bowling Coach, Replacing Andre Adams

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has parted ways with pace bowling coach Andre Adams, who was working with Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana. In his place, Australian pacer Shaun Tait has been appointed as the new pace bowling coach. The Tigers’ cricket board confirmed the news in a statement on Monday. Tait has been contracted until November 2027 and is expected to join the team later this month.

Previously, BCB had appointed New Zealander Andre Adams to improve the performance of Bangladesh’s pace attack, but the board was not satisfied with his results. Although his contract was set to run until February 2026, BCB ended the agreement early, paving the way for Tait’s arrival.

Tait expressed his satisfaction at joining the Bangladesh team, saying, “I’ve joined the Bangladesh side at a good time. They are entering a new era, which has been mentioned quite a few times recently. There are many young pacers in the team, which is great. This is international cricket, not a development squad. Everyone here wants results, and so do I. My focus is on achieving as many wins as possible.”

Tait was the head coach of Chittagong Kings in the 2024–25 season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where he led the team to a runner-up finish. He played a key role in developing the skills of young pacers, particularly Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, and Khaled Ahmed. Tait also has prior coaching experience with the national teams of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
